Making a Difference, One Step at a Time
Jan Vikas Parishad Evam Anusandhan Sansthan(jvpas) is a voluntary, non-political, non-religious and non-profit organization, established in the year 2001. Registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1973, this organization is active at Balram Talkies Road, Nehru Nagar, Bilaspur Chhattisgarh . Basic Objective:- The primary objective of the organization has been dedicated to the all-round development of disabled children by providing them quality education, vocational training and respectable rehabilitation facilities. Initial years (2001-2003)Conducted medical tests and parent counselling programmes for scientific diagnosis of mental disability. Played the role of master trainer under National Rehabilitation Programme with the support of Social Welfare Department and District Rehabilitation Centre, Bilaspur. Conducted disability awareness campaign among disabled persons working in seven blocks of the district. Important Steps towards Inclusion (2005) In collaboration with Reach India (US Aid), Inclusive Education was implemented in schools of three blocks of the district, so that children with disabilities could join mainstream education. Expanding the horizon of welfare: The organization has expanded the scope of its services over time: Tribal Empowerment: Innovative work of providing rights to forest land under Forest Rights Act in remote tribal areas, forest conservation and promotion of natural farming. Child Development and Nutrition: Running Community Learning Centres for children up to 5 years of age in rural areas, where nutritious food and milk is distributed to the children daily and Per education .
Community Support
The organization’s primary objective is to promote socio-economic and educational development, strengthen rural communities, and foster "self-sustainability" through: - Capacity building and advocacy efforts, - Empowering local institutions and counterparts, - Gender mainstreaming and sensitization from a rights-based perspective, - Addressing key issues related to education, health, hygiene, livelihood, persons with disabilities (PwD), and dignity for vulnerable communities.
